Preventing Gum Disease Symptom, Preventing The Occurrence Of The Condition
Gum disease is a bacterial infection of the tissues and bones that surround and support the teeth and it is caused by plaque, a sticky film of bacteria that constantly forms on the teeth, if left untreated can lead to more serious dental and medical condition. Early symptoms of gum diseases such as gums that easily bleeds when brushing, tender, red and swollen gums are more often neglected until it delivers pain and discomfort.
There are two major stages of gum disease, gingivitis as its mildest form and Periodontitis as its advance stage. Regular dental check ups play an important role in early diagnosis and treatment of gum disease.
While gum disease is a very serious dental condition, it can be prevented. Regular dental check ups and proper oral health hygiene are the key factor in early detection of gum disease as well as detecting oral cancer, which is another serious dental condition that can also be fatal.
